Once I am done with this exhibition on the 16th of May, I need to start a new project, of which I am still thinking whether to do one about Count Estruc (The Catalan Vampire) or Baba Yaga with Vasilisa the beautiful, (a Russian tale about a beautiful girl meeting the terrible cannibal witch of the woods). I am still pondering which story to illustrate first. However I think I will do one of Baba Yaga since it is a favourite of mine while the story of Count Estruc I need to do a lot of research about magic that both the Jewish Hermit and the Old Nun cast against him and it might take a bit since it is a VERY obscure story, it seems. I am feeling excited in doing both of them. I'll keep the blog and Facebook posted with my updates of discovery.
FINALLY! I finished the final editing of 'Little Tangerine' book and it has been now sent to the printers. Hopefully it will be done by Thursday. Two days before the exhibition! Right now I am waiting for my A3 size illustrated posters to be printed, so that on Saturday I'll be able to frame them in the way it is outlined for the exhibition.
I just finished my 7 images of ‘Little Tangerine’ story for the upcoming exhibition! It’s now in my Illustration gallery for everyone to see.
Hahaha, I got a funny story about this project; I nearly had a heart attack a while back due to my discovery that my PC screens give out different colours than what printers and an Apple screens in my university do. This meant it forced me to redo all of the seven images of my book that took me three months to do, now into an intense session of three to eleven hours a day of sitting in front of a computer screen fixing the colours for over three weeks. Now that they are finished, I just have to finish the editing of the book in InDesign so to get it ready for printing. Next I need to focus on the framing of the printed images and finishing off the rest of the projects in my MA assignments that are soon to be due. For example this website is one of my projects that are going to be graded soon, so give me luck. HUGE TIP if you are going to do art on a computer; Before you start creating art or printing out art, check that your colours and images look good in different computer screens for colour tones and see how the colours look like once printed out. So that you don’t have to redo everything all over again. I found out that Apples are quite reliable when it comes to colour exposure, unlike PC’s, so once I got the money I might get an Apple to do my art projects on. Meanwhile my University Apple computers will have to be my main tool for now. ![]() Here is the back cover of the book with the plot summery nicely written up. "The story of Little Tangerine is a traditional Catalan tale, which, for the first time has been translated into English in the pages of this book. The story shares its origins with the famous tale of 'Snow White'; it expresses the same magical charm of the Grimm Brother's way of storytelling, yet with an added Mediterranean feel. Little Tangerine, the main character and heroine of the tale, is born out of great goodness and purity. Named after the radiant oranges which her mother, the Queen, consumes one noon upon a sill overlooking the valleys, the young princess grows to embody true beauty and sweetness. Once deemed the most beautiful woman in the world, the Queen is soon overtaken by the radiant Little Tangerine. The rage of the Queen begins a journey for the young girl, where she must escape the clutches of her mother's jealousy and venture into a magical new way of life. Along the way, the young princess encounters strange and magical worlds filled with evil sorceresses, grand kingdoms, kindly giants, as well as the handsome prince that any good fairytale should have. A wonderful, magical folk-tale suitable for all ages". Hello? Is anyone out there?
Yep, it is I! It’s been ages since the last time I visited or updated anything here. This year has been quite busy for me and I had a bit of an artist block that prevented me from posting anything. Now I overcame this blockage and I am now rebooted to a brand new me again! I’ll try to submit as many works as often as possible again (hopefully every few days). I might have to miss a day or two due to having to balance work and academics, but don’t lose hope, I’ll be back! So if you like what I have, please do stay tuned for more artworks and posts. Thanks for visiting! x ITS JUST IN! Im on holidays now!!!

My first published book, "A Tale of Count Arnau: The Two Lovers" is now printed and available for sale.
If you are interested in buying, please send me a message in Contacts or Facebook and we will arrange a sending. I am having troubles in setting up my online selling, but it is coming soon! This book and illustrations are for my Graduation Degree Show in my University. |
